Bacton Parish Council Green spaces contract specification

The grounds maintenance operations set out below will commence from 1 March 2026 through until  30 November 2026 and shall cover the following tasks: -

Contract works

St Marys Playing field

  • Mowing of the playing field 14 day intervals during the season.

  • Strimming around all obstructions, goal posts, play equipment etc.

  • The area of the 5 a side football pitch is to be cut shorter than the main field to prevent tripping when in use. 

Enclosed Dog Area

  • Mowing of this area at 14 day intervals during the season.

  • Strimming around all obstructions including the base of the fence. 

  • A bushcutter should be used to keep the walking area to the side and rear of the dog Area free from obstructions, particularly brambles.

North Close

  • Mow and strim at 14 day intervals during the season, strimming up to the base of shrubs where appropriate.

Pulhams Lane

  • Mowing of this area to the footpath at 14 day intervals during the season.

  • Strimming around the bench and litter bin, and the banks of the ditch down to water level.

  • Cutting the grass around the dog waste bin and the square land opposite the dog bin, strimming around the tree in the middle and the ditch down to water level.

Cemetery 

  • Mow and strim every 14 days throughout the season, ensuring cutting and strimming goes as far as the base of the hedge.

  • Collecting the grass trimmings ensuring all memorial stones are free from any detritus.

  • Hedge cutting twice a year, all waste taken away.

Garden of Reflection 

  • Mow and strim every 14 days throughout the season,

  • Collecting the grass trimmings.

  • Hedge cutting twice a year, all waste taken away.

  • Weed and maintain the borders every 14 days throughout the season.

  • Where bulbs are growing through the grass, the grass should be left uncut until the green of the bulbs leaves has died back.

Village hall

  • Mowing to the front of the hall every 14 days throughout the season.

  • Mowing the area opposite the Village Hall up to the fence at the edge of the ditch.

Tailor’s green

  • Mowing of the green every 14 days throughout the season.

  • Grass to be cut close to the hedge of the neighbouring property and strimmed up to the base of the hedge to prevent the growth and creep of perennial weeds.

  • Mowing of the area along the roadside with the village sign every 14 days throughout the season.

  • Strimming around trees, benches and the north area of the ditch down to water level.

Beacon green

  • Mowing of the grass every 14 day intervals during the season.

  • Strimming around trees, boundary fence, beacon and benches.

Shop green

  • Mowing of the grass every 14 day intervals during the season.

  • Strimming around trees, boundary fence and benches.

All Areas Above

Particular attention is to be given to the edges of the areas being cut, and the cutting and removal of perennial weeds, particularly brambles and nettles to prevent weed creep over the grassed areas.

 

The Parish Council requires a high quality cut with particular attention to the detail given above.  The Contractor is expected to schedule sufficient time for this contract to meet the above expectations.

 

Quotes should be emailed as a pdf document to parishclerk@bacton-pc.gov.uk on or before 16 February 2026. Any quotes received after this date will not be considered.

 

The contract will be awarded w/c 23 February 2026.
