Bacton Village Hall is situated in Church Road, opposite St. Mary's Church, and is a welcoming venue ideally suited to classes, clubs, meetings, community events, or private functions. The Hall ismanaged by the Bacton Village Hall Committee, a registered charity. 

 

The hall offers extensive facilities including a raised stage area with sound system and projector screen, comfortable seating for up to 100 people, a large, well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, crockery, cutlery, and glassware, and baby changing facilities.

 

Outside the hall there is disabled access and designated parking, and additional on site parking for approximately twelve cars.

The services and facilities provided by us include:

  • Litter and Dog Waste Bins 
  • Roadside Grit Bins (more information below, about where these are located)
  • St. Mary's Field - including a childrens' Play Area and an enclosed dog exercise area
  • 21 Street Lights (more information below)
  • Cemetery (This does not include the Churchyard (which is managed by St Mary's Parochial Church Council)
  • Maintenance of the three Registered Village Greens: Shop Green, Tailors Green and Cow Green
  • Grant Aid to Local Charities - (subject to our grant-making priorities and the availability of funds)

The Clerk to the Parish Council  will be happy to advise on the pro­vider of any other public or local serv­ices.

Street Lights

We use LED bulbs in our street lights - this reduces electricity usage and helps to make Bacton a more environmentally friendly village. This map shows which street lights are operated by the Parish Council - please report any faults on these to the Clerk.

Other streetlights in the Parish are owned and maintained by Suffolk County Council, please report any faults on these by using this link.

 

Cemetery

The Cemetery provides for traditional burials and has graves dating from 1934 onwards. The Parish Council is the Burial Authority for the Cemetery and the Clerk maintains and holds the registers of burials.

The Cemetery Regulations and Conditions govern the use of the cemetery and provide helpful information and can be found via the drop down menu; you can also see the current Cemetery Fees there .

The Cemetery is located behind St Mary's Church, Rectory Road, Bacton.

Community Speed Watch

The road safety working party include a number of volunteers willing to carry out Community Speed Watch. COVID 19 then became reality and the subsequent lockdown meant all training by the police was suspended.
We are however now pleased to confirm training with the police will resume from 29th March 2021; we are awaiting confirmation of the date for our training.
